Cannabis Assessment

We are currently developing our Cannabis Service with an expected launch in early 2024

What are Cannabis Based Medicinal Products?

We are currently in the process of developing a Cannabis Based Medicinal Product service. This is not yet currently available with Harley Street Mental Health, however we are hopeful this will start in early 2024.

Cannabis Based Medicinal Products are also known as “Medical Cannabis”. It is considered an unlicensed medication that can be used in individuals that have been resistant to treatment with licensed medications. Medical Cannabis products are regulated by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and as of November 2018 can be prescribed legally by clinicians on the specialist register. In order to be eligible for consideration for the use of Medical Cannabis, we require service users to have trialed at least two licensed medications that have not met their needs.

Cannabis Based medicinal products work on the endocannabinoid system which acts as our internal regulator, effecting our nervous system, immune system, cognition, blood pressure, sleep and pain pathways.

Whilst there are more than 100 cannabinoids, we primarily prescribe based on CBD and THC, the ratio will depend on your individual circumstances.
